Daily driving a welded diff

A limited slip differential increases the safety of a vehicle because it increases the control a driver has over the vehicle. If turning a corner when the road is wet or icy, an open differential can cause the car to spin out of control because it can push the wheels across the road surface.

- also again you have a backways, a 2 way diff is bassically sending drive to both wheels at all times, so it will clunk and skip and do all the annoying things a welded diff does under normal driving. but on the track a well set up 2 way diff will give you the best traction for the driven wheels at all times.
- First, make sure that it actually a welded center diff and not just a VCE (in which case you will just need a viscous coupling ~$25 used and ~30 min to swap). Otherwise, you will need a used center diff ($100-$200) and the swap can be done in ~2 hours (less if you have done it before) with tranny still on the car.

You will need experience driving at the limit and losing control to safely handle a welded diff or it will catch you out whether by understeer or oversteer. I dunno about the ABS, but you will want to remove the e-diff programming and might as well get all the ebd stuff out at the same time.
- I've ran on a welded diff last year when I twisted 2 Evolution USA spools. At that time DSS didn't have their K-spool yet. It's fine for drag racing, turning sucks on it to be honest. I wouldn't recommend it. If you wanna see pics of how I welded my diff, lol... Let me know.
